Early Years

During the Early Years (Nursery and Reception), the emphasis is on Literacy and Numeracy to prepare children to read and write well with beginning of a foundation in Mathematics.

At this foundation stage, we cover learning in 3 prime areas such as Communication and Language; Physical Development; and Personal, Social and Emotional Development to ignite children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for learning.
We use the thematic approach to cover these areas as well as in Creative Development, and Knowledge of the World.
Our Early Years programme is based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework for England, which is also enhanced with language training in Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin. These languages are introduced to students in a fun and interesting way; through singing, story telling and role-play. Agama lessons are also conducted weekly for the Muslim students.

Primary School

Primary School covers Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2) and Key Stage 2 (Years 3 to 6). The focus is to build on literacy and numeracy skills. In addition to the core subjects, thematic approaches are used to introduce Humanities, Science and the Expressive Arts.
Our Primary School programme is based on the National Curriculum for England, enhanced by the highly regarded International Primary Curriculum (IPC) (only in TIS Kuala Lumpur) and supported by language education in Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin.
In Key Stages 1 and 2, students are introduced to a wide range of subjects and studies where learning is hands-on, exciting and interesting. Children are actively involved in their lessons and are motivated to do things for themselves where they learn to ask questions and have the confidence to think for themselves. They will become more independent and make progress to achieve their full potential.

Secondary School

Secondary School covers Key Stages 3 and 4.

Key Stage 3 marks the beginning of Secondary education with Years 7 to 9. This next three years of learning will extend the knowledge and skills in subjects taught during Key Stage 2. The programme follows the National Curriculum for England, enhanced by international themes and languages in Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin. All subjects at this stage are taught by specialist teachers in dedicated classrooms.

Key Stage 4 covers Years 10 and 11. This stage offers a two-year IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) course that culminates in examinations administered by the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE).
The IGCSE qualification is highly recognised worldwide, and places importance in content knowledge, application and skills. It is the equivalent of SPM, however with IGCSE, students graduate a year earlier than their SPM counterparts.
During this stage, students will focus on a selection of subjects that include the core subjects of Maths, English and Science, as well as continuing Key Stage 3 subjects. New subjects such as Business Studies, Economics, English Literature and Additional Mathematics are offered.

After IGCSE, students are able to transit into Sixth Form.
