U15 Boys and Girls Football

The first U15 boys game post Adam, will go down as one of Team Thunder’s sloppier games. With a boys missing due to transport issues and injury the scoreline was a lot closer than last season (a 7-0 victory).

A Chee Syuen header put TIS into an early lead but then poor defending allowed AISM to score two quick goals and take the lead. Chee Syuen scored his second when he scrambled home a corner and then two quick goals from Madhav and Hussein before halftime made it 4-2 to TIS.

With the high standards set last season, the second half was pretty poor. Lot’s of stray passes and missed opportunities where the story of the second half. Madhav did score his second 5 minutes before the end to make the game safe, but slack marking allowed the Aussies to pull back a consolation goal and make the final score 5-3. The boys know they need to step up a gear for KLISS round 1 next week.

The U15 girls travelled to AISM for their second warm up fixture of the season. Having beaten Puchong convincingly in their previous fixture confidence amongst the team was running high. AISM however were not just going to roll over and certainly gave the Thunder girls a run for their money.

The Taylor's girls found themselves 1-0 down within the first 5 minutes of the match which was a goal against the run of play and helped our opponents settle and become much more confident on the ball. This shook the Thunder team up a bit and after a period of very scrappy football an equaliser finally appeared courtesy of YeNa's face after she bravely closed the opposing goal keeper down and knew very little about the goal!

AISM kept their nerve however and re-took the lead which they then held until the final 5 minutes of the match. At 2-1 down and only having 5 minutes left the Thunder girls ensured they were digging deep and seeing nothing as a lost cause. YeNa was put through 1 on 1 with the keeper and calmly slotted the ball home to bring the scores level for a second time. This then gave the Thunder girls the confidence to have a big final push to get the winning goal they desired and with a minute left to play the pressure Taylor's were putting on the AISM goal paid off as the ball came into the box and found Cerelia to place it into the bottom left hand corner.

Final score TISKL 3-2 AISM
