This week has seen our Year 11 and some Year 10 (accelerated) students fully engaged in their IGCSE examinations that will continue until November when a well earned rest will be had by all. Despite the pressure of the examinations, the spirit of the students is strong and committed and I have been very impressed by the positive, focussed attitude of our students generally at this challenging time.

The Taylorian Rhapsody production at the end of last week was truly outstanding with musicians of all ages performing to the highest of standards. The evening afforded a profound insight into the talents and creativity of  students from across the school and was a truly enjoyable evening for all in the sell out audience. This was followed by our Open Day event on Saturday that yielded a higher than expected interest from parents in wishing to join our growing school.

Our revised transport system is now in place and I must express my appreciation and gratitude to those parents who have been so supportive and understanding and helped us to deliver a safer system for pickup and drop off. We still have some work to do though as we are very keen to ensure the most efficient model for transport that we can offer. To that end, the Transport Committee will meet on Tuesday and begin work towards further developing the facilities that we have so that delay and frustration are minimised but, at the same time, ensuring levels of child safety are maintained.

As you will read later in this newsletter, our sports teams continue to excel and, most importantly, participate in tournaments and competitions. Whilst football has loomed large on the fixtures list this week, today sees one of our largest sports events to date with over 100 students participating in the KLISS  inter-schools cross country being hosted by Nexus School. The Primary student contingent that I had the pleasure in meeting this morning were good humoured and very focussed on winning!

Wishing you an enjoyable weekend and positive week ahead.
