Report Cards were sent home last week and as I mentioned in an earlier newsletter, we are happy to meet with any parents who wish to discuss. The Report Cards that will be sent out in November will give some indication of progress between now and that point.

Today we were delighted to have a professional violinist perform at the school for some of the children. For many this may have been the first time that they have heard a real life musical performance and I could see from the reactions that a lot of children were very impressed and moved by the experience. Let’s hope this is the start of many such performances for our students to enjoy.

This Monday, a representative from Pearson’s Book Company gave a workshop for KS1 and Early Years parents. It was a chance for them to listen to someone from outside the school talk about techniques and resources to better teach English to children. In regards to training for teaching staff, we are sending a number of teachers to a ‘Jolly Phonics’ course this weekend and look forward to seeing all their new ideas from next week when they return. Watch this space!

ECA – please get those reply slips back to your class teachers by next Friday (July 10th) at the latest as we need to finalize the numbers and payment before the new term starts. Please remember that ECAs will not start until Monday August 10th which is our second week back.

In other news, as I am sure you know; next week marks the end of our Second School Term here at Taylor’s International School Puchong. It is hard to believe we will already be starting our third semester in early August . Our third term will be a long and busy one with more Report Cards, Parent and Teacher Conferences, a Sports Day and much more besides.
