26 January - Message From The Principal

As we enter a period of public holidays and “short weeks” with the Thaipusam holiday next week, followed shortly afterwards by Chinese New Year, these breaks not only allow us to reflect on the celebrations of the moment but also to reflect on how to prepare and position ourselves for the rest of the term. Whether in EYS or Year 11, the term ahead holds a whole host of challenges and new experiences for our learners both in and outside of the classroom. The sporting calendar is very much underway with us seeing our basketball players heavily committed to MSSD competitions in addition to netball and football fixtures. Athletics too has featured with an international school tournament on the horizon.

In the classroom, the IPC is moving progressively forward in the primary school and, for the whole school, our links with Quantum Education of the USA is being further cemented with CPD events for staff being undertaken this week culminating in a visit from Quantum representatives in early February. The common purpose is for us to share our expertise and Quantum theirs in order to deliver hybrid learning experiences for both students and staff. This exciting project is one that will further enhance our capabilities as a learning community geared to the very best educational outcomes for your children.

In Performing Arts, rehearsals are well under way for the forthcoming performance of “Hairspray” in March; a production that we are all very much looking forward to featuring drama, music and dance as part of this critically acclaimed stage production. Mr. Shoeman and his team are pulling out all the stops to make this a performance to remember.

On the administrative front and, following my email of this week, we are reviewing our child safety measures as well as further reviewing the traffic and access arrangements for the school. I look forward to working with the respective committees and further improving these aspects of our operations. In the meantime, I wish you a restful weekend and a positive, albeit short, week ahead.

With best wishes,
