Students and teachers back in school!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Last week was the first step back to normality for the school with students from Early Years being allowed back into the school. It is so good to see students and teachers back on the school campus after all these months. The Early Years children have been really happy to get involved in face to face teaching again and with activities. Everyone is pleased that they are now on campus. Their energy and enthusiasm has been missed for many months.

The campus has been deep cleaned and the SoP markings and facilities have all been refreshed. Please note that the staff on campus have all been double vaccinated, and that all adult visitors need to be the same. We were visited by three officers from the Ministry to check our readiness for students and after their inspection they gave a great ‘thumbs up’, saying that they were very pleased with our arrangements and organisation.

Last week also saw the start of the vaccination programme for our secondary students who are aged 12 to 16. We have now had most students in this category vaccinated. I would like to publicly thank ISKL for hosting these vaccines for a great many private schools in this area, and also thanks to our parents and staff who have been at ISKL volunteering their help. If your child is 12 or over and you have registered with the school for the vaccine and have not received your appointment through My Sejahtera, then please let us know.

This week we also have the start of the IGCSE exams for Year 11. These will be centered in the hall but with a much wider spacing than in previous years to more than comply with the latest SoP from the MoE. Due to this we will be using more locations for these IGCSE papers. Please join me in wishing Year 11 all the best with these examinations, it has been a tough year for everyone but especially these students in the last year of their exam studies.

Hopefully, we will now be moving to a point where the Ministry allows more students to come into the campus for lessons. At the moment, KL is in Phase 3 and are only allowed to have EY and Year 11 in school. We will alert parents when this situation changes.

Stay safe
