‘Thank You For The Music’

We are very excited about our pending musical performances which involve around 800 students across 37 classes! Pn Shakilah, Ms Azzila and Mr Jeffry have been busy rehearsing the main cast and dancers. It is really a whole team effort as class teachers and other willing hands have worked to produce a dynamic and energetic show. As a pre-show teaser, I can reveal that the storyline is a typical family setting, battling for the remote control to watch their favourite movies! Look out for scenes from my all time favourite musical, ‘The Sound of Music’, a few Disney hits….. and of course, as indicated by the title of our show, ‘Mamma Mia!’ Thank you, parents for your support in this event. We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday or Wednesday.

World Cup Finals!

Before France had achieved its success in Russia, Class 6R and Class 3A reached the finals of the TISKL World Cup 2018.

6R were challenged for the cup by 5R, and the game was hard fought, with 6R winning 3-1.

The following day, Mr Victor refereed the battle between 6R students and teachers, including Mr Jonathan, 6R’s class teacher! This match went to penalties and despite a valiant effort by goalkeeper Mr Jeffry, the teachers were defeated by the students.

Class 3A were victorious (2-1) in their final match against 4A, with junior national player, Isaac Tan commanding the field with his running power. An all ladies teacher team took on champions 3A and were clearly defeated 6-2 in the match refereed by Mr Graeme.  Take a look at some great action shots in the gallery.

After the teachers v students matches, we were delighted to welcome Futsal player, En.Faiz for a ‘meet and greet’ session. Faiz spoke about playing from the heart and how listening is as important as having football skills. He answered questions prepared by students on what type of food he liked, how high he could kick the ball and what led him to play futsal. The children were both delighted and impressed when he ended the session by kicking the ball an estimated 35m into the air.

Children from Nursery and Reception provided the Closing Ceremony entertainment with ‘Waka Waka’ and ‘We Will Rock You’. Medals and certificates were presented to the winning classes for door decoration, the penalty shoot out and the football finals. The ‘Player of the Tournament’ was awarded to Tan Kae Sern (6R). The World Cup replica, created by Ms Nadira, was presented by Mr Wells. What a spectacular end to an exciting fortnight. See you in
