As we end this first term of the 2018 academic year, it is hard to believe how quickly the last 3 months past. Our students have achieved so much at all levels of the school as part of this exciting year so far at TIS Puchong. We have been blessed with excellent examinations results for IGCSE and competed in a huge variety of sporting fixtures and competitions as part of our membership of KLISS, MSSD and our Athletics partnership with the Alice Smith School. We have enjoyed the excellent performance that was “Hairspray”, a show that was crewed and cast almost exclusively by students.

Our PTCs have been well attended as was our Open Week and Open Day saturday event.  Personally, I very much enjoy such events as they offer the opportunity to show the wider public what we do and what a superb school TIS Puchong is. The feedback from Open week was very positive but if you have a point that you would like to raise with the school (positive or negative!), please do not hesitate to contact us as we would love to hear from you.

This term has also seen the launch of the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) for Y3 and Y4. The launch has been very successful with students enjoying and clearly benefiting from this approach to learning.  April will see Y1 and Y2 beginning their IPC journey followed by Y5 and Y6 in Jan 19. Sadly, we say “good bye” and “thank you” to Ms. Angela who leaves us as Head of Early Years. However, her replacement will focus very much on upping the profile of the Early Years curriculum as well as investigating how best to develop the curriculum and its delivery for our youngest learners.

Holidays offer our students the opportunity to not only rest after a stimulating and challenging term but also to reflect on the term that has passed and the areas where they did well or less well. This reflection is important in order to refocus and plan for a successful term ahead. I encourage all our students whether they are the youngest or the oldest, to rest, reflect and plan over the forthcoming holiday and return to us, refreshed and recharged for another challenging, exciting and positive term ahead.

Wishing you a restful holiday,
David Flint 斐迪偉
Principal of Taylor’s International School Puchong
