This week normal service resumed with numerous tournaments taking place including Benchball, Basketball and Football.

Our Football under 18 boys and girls were in action this week as we hosted both KL Sports League tournaments. As Mr Stefano mentions in his newsletter section, our teams are playing two age categories above themselves and both finished 4th, just missing out on a medal spot. Their KLISS tournaments are both on Saturday 16th November so we have plenty of time to get some training sessions in before this date to give it a real go. On a positive note, the girls tournament was Mr Wasim’s first as a coach here at our school and it was pleasing to see the girls fight very hard for both him and the team.

As well as the under 18’s, our Football under 15 boys and girls went to Epsom College for some preparation matches. The boys ran out convincing 6-0 winners playing some excellent football whilst the girls played extremely well but succumbed to a narrow 1-0 loss.

Our Basketball under 11 girls led by Mr Zul travelled to TIS Kuala Lumpur for their first round AIMS-K matches. They played exquisitely, beating both Nexus and KTJ International Schools before narrowly losing to TIS Kuala Lumpur. This means that they qualify for the cup finals later this month! A fantastic effort from our girls.

On Wednesday we hosted the Benchball under 9 bowl tournament for the boys. It was a great tournament and as ever, we did a very good job at hosting. We finished in 3rd place with Asia Pacific International School taking home the championship.

On Saturday we travel to International School Kuala Lumpur as our under 14 boys and girls take on the very best teams in Selangor in this one-off tournament. Next week we have an extremely packed schedule with no less than 13 tournaments taking place! Also, the tickets for the Sports Awards are now being given out so please can all students come to collect your attendance slip and return it before the deadline of Friday 11th October to guarantee your seat!
