22 March - Message From The Principal

With just a few days to go a great excitement is being built up around the school.  Of course, I am referring to this year’s extravaganza of Peter Pan. Twice this week I have walked into the auditorium and the student have been busy rehearsing and putting the final touches to this work of art. Furthermore, I have seen two short clips of the students themselves advertising their work, one from the music band and one from the backstage crew. I find myself feeling eager and looking forward to next week’s performances.
Another event that is starting to take shape this week was the commencement and discussion of Eco Week, which will take place later in the year.  I had students come to see me regarding the use of plastic utensils in the cafeteria and about the reduction of plastic used around the school. I am very keen to have this conversation develop outside the confines of the school and have parental involvement in this as I am sure there is great expertise in the parent body.
I have been continuing with my observations and discussions with parents, this week with Year 8 parents, and with meeting and getting to know students. In fact, last Friday I thoroughly enjoyed being involved in the staff vs students football match. I am afraid however that I have discovered that my old legs are not what they used to be.
There has been more Quantum Learning training this week in which I also took part. I am hoping that the benefits to the classroom and learning will be transposed fairly quickly.
There is so much happens in a school week and a school day and I thank you all for your support and for your involvement.
Thank you.

Kind regards
