Selamat Tahun Baru to all and selamat kembali to 2020.
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to once again to our school. A particular welcome to the new boys and girls and mums and dads. You are now part of a thriving and happy school community and you will soon see our school focus is on helping students reach their full academic potential, moral character, and acquiring social confidence and responsibility from an early age.
We strive to ensure our children are engaged in an environment focused on high expectations reflecting academic, social and emotional development. All the while sustaining a positive culture of kindness, friendship and generosity within our community.
The year has started very smoothly indeed. The start of any year can be fraught with teething problems but I have to say that I witnessed on Wednesday a very smooth transition. Behind the scenes a lot planning and work had already been achieved and so I want to thank my dedicated and focused staff. Two days gone and it feels that the school has already been open a while.
Speaking of teething problems I would like to extend an apology on behalf SBL and the school for any issues that you might have had with the ordering of items form the online bookstore. I know that when the problem has been brought to me, was then able to let the bookstore know and I know that many issues have been solved quickly.
The safety of our students is paramount and with that in mind I ask you kindly and perhaps as a favour to please respect our rules. In particular the wearing of school tags at all times and driving carefully in and around the school confines. These rules have been thought through and are not there for the sake of rules. These have been designed and implemented for the smooth running of the school and for the safety of your sons and daughters. Everyone from the guards at the gate, the teachers, the canteen staff and cleaning staff are doing their best so I would really appreciate that you bear this in mind in your daily interactions with all.
I look forward to meeting you if you are new, to seeing you again if you are already with us and to working with you and getting to know you further. Please know that my door is open even if you just want to come in and say hello or discuss anything of more substance. Have a great 2020.
