Our students have demonstrated outstanding performance and enthusiasm in a series of mathematics competitions held in early 2026. Across all year levels, they showcased strong problem-solving abilities, teamwork, and resilience.
Year 5 AIMS Maths Challenge
In February, our Year 5 students travelled to Penang to participate in the AIMS Maths Challenge at St Christopher’s International School. Competing in seven rounds, including team and individual events, students applied their mathematical thinking in real-world scenarios. One of the highlights was a bridge-building challenge that combined creativity with engineering concepts. Representing the school as Taylor’s Lightning and Taylor’s Typhoon, our students demonstrated excellent collaboration, adaptability, and confidence while engaging with peers from other schools.
Kuala Lumpur Senior Mathematics Competition (KLSMC) 2026
On 14 March, our senior students competed against 228 participants from leading international schools. Two teams represented the school and delivered exceptional results. Jayden achieved an impressive 7th place overall in the Individual Round (Year 11 category). In the Team Competition, Shi Han, Siew Ming, Jeremy, and Jayden secured 2nd Place overall (Silver Medal), along with additional 2nd place finishes in the Proof, Fermi, and Dragon Maths rounds.
UKMT Intermediate Mathematical Challenge (IMC) 2026
At the IMC Award Ceremony on 16 March, we celebrated the efforts of 34 participating students. This prestigious international competition emphasises precision, logical reasoning, and strategic thinking. We commend all participants for their dedication and perseverance, with special recognition given to our top performers.
These experiences reflect our students’ commitment to excellence and embody the school’s core values of resilience, responsibility, and respect. We encourage more students to get involved through the Mathematics Challenge Club and to participate in upcoming competitions such as the KLJMC (May 2026) and the UKMT Junior Mathematical Challenge (30 April 2026).
