The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award
Sports
TIS Kuala Lumpur places a strong emphasis on sports and physical development of students. Participation in the sport of interest helps develop and enhance skills like strength, speed, endurance, agility, control, balance, flexibility and more. It also sees improvement of confidence and self-esteem in a child.

There is a variety of sports offered such as badminton, football, volleyball, basketball, athletics and more in which the sports teams have been extremely successful over the past years.

Sports should be a part of the school’s curriculum and an integral part of a child’s development.
Performing Arts
The Performing Arts combines the elements of Music, Instrumental lessons Dance and Drama.

We deliver a high standard of performing arts education, providing students with knowledge and skills that promote a confident mindset, and an enjoyment of performance. We provide an atmosphere where students are encouraged to set goals, take risks and view mistakes as an avenue for learning.
Co-Curricular Activities
Co-curricular activities (CCAs) are an integral part of the school’s curriculum. Through CCAs, students discover their interests and talents. These recreational, sports-based and interest-based activities foster character building as well as nurture teamwork and leadership qualities.

The CCAs that are offered encompass everything from traditional sports such as basketball, football, and badminton to more culturally oriented pursuits like drama, music and dance, alongside myriad other opportunities. We have a dedicated team of teachers with excellent modern facilities to support these activities.
Extra-Curricular Activities
Extra-curricular Activities (ECA) are optional activities that fall outside the realm of the normal curriculum of school. These pay-to-participate activities provide students the opportunity to further explore their physical, creative and social interests that will help them to develop better skills, confidence and knowledge.

At TIS Kuala Lumpur, we offer a broad selection of ECAs that are recreational, sports-based and interest-based activities. Our ECAs are conducted by external specialists and held after school hours where students can enjoy a different set of learning skills.
Corporate Social Responsibilities
Besides academic excellence, TIS Kuala Lumpur also take their community responsibilities seriously.

Women Week
In 2018, the Student Council also held Women’s Week in collaboration with Project 1611 to raise awareness of gender inequality. This awareness project aimed to empower women, to make them feel confident about themselves, especially in voicing their opinions without the fear of a backlash from society. Through a range of activities, students are now more aware of the inequalities faced by women here and around the world.
