Cafeteria
The school cafeteria provides a variety of food and drinks. Ranging from Asian, Western and vegetarian cuisines, meals are ensured to be nutritious, well-balanced and healthy for students. Great emphasis is made on food safety and hygiene, and also in ensuring the dining area as well as the kitchen, food storage facility and the food preparation area is systematically kept clean and safe. As a school we feel that it is our responsibility to encourage our students to make healthier choices when it comes to eating habits.

The menu is made available at the end of every month at the Parent Portal. Parents may place their Pre-order meals via eService. All food and beverages in TIS Kuala Lumpur cafeteria are provided by Cezars Kitchen Sdn Bhd.

During COVID-19, Cezar's Kitchen have a dedicated HSE team with support from top management that closely monitor all local and international trusted sources of information to ensure they remain at the forefront of safety towards COVID-19. Health & Medical
The health and safety of every child is of paramount importance to the school. However, accidents may occasionally occur or children may be unwell during the school day. In either event every effort will be made to ensure that parents are notified immediately. In the event when an emergency treatment is required immediately and the parents are not contactable, the school will proceed with the emergency treatment with a suitable doctor or hospital.

The school has a Medical Room called the Sick Bay with a two full-time, qualified and experienced nurses to provide support in these situations. They will contact parents, should an accident occur with your child. If your child has any allergies or suffers from any condition such as asthma, please ensure you inform the school through the medical forms, or directly to the nurses and also class teachers.
Bus Services
The school has outsourced third party bus operators for parents who need transportation for their children. There are several bus operators serving various parts of the city.

Parents may want to contact these bus operators directly to find out more on the routes and bus fare.
Cashless System
At TIS Kuala Lumpur, we are proud to be a cashless campus. Almost all goods and services in our school can be purchased online or with the swipe of an eCard.

eBook Store
All purchases of school uniforms, stationery items and textbooks can be purchased online via our eBook Store, which is accessible via the Parent Portal. All orders, transactions and payments are to be made online and the purchases will be delivered directly to your home or office.

For an emergency need for a PE kit or school uniform, we also have a cashless vending machine located at the school foyer that offers instant purchases with a swipe of the eCard.

eService
The eService provides online access for parents to:
  • View transaction details of the eCard
  • Transfer fund between parent/student eCards or sibling eCards
  • Reload the eCard

To access the eService, parents must login using the family GMAIL account issued by our Admissions Department. The quick link to the Parent Portal is at the top right corner of our website.
Counselling
TIS Kuala Lumpur has two full time counsellors who provides student counselling. The service offers a safe and confidential environment for students to talk about any issues related to their mental or emotional health or learning. Counselling is about getting help to find solutions, learning to deal with issues in life and getting support through difficult times.

The counselling service in school is run professionally and it follows the Counselling Code of Ethics set by the Malaysian Board of Counsellors (Lembaga Kaunselor Malaysia). Confidentiality is maintained unless information is revealed that the student or anyone else is at risk of any kind of harm or physical danger.

Students and parents are welcome to enquire more about the service.

The counsellor is available Mondays to Fridays during school hours at the Counsellor’s Room (Level 2, Academic Block).

ABOUT THE COUNSELLORS
  • May Toh
    May Toh holds a Master Degree in Counselling Psychology, Bachelor Degree in Finance and Advance Diploma in Special Education. She has been working as a counsellor for more than 10 years in different counselling settings like tertiary institutions, schools and non-governmental organisations. She is a registered and licensed counsellor under the Board of Counsellors of Malaysia. She is also an accredited administrator and practitioner for DISC Human Behavior Instrument.

    May Toh is passionate to work with children and youngsters and she has over 12 years of school and college guidance and counselling experience in supporting students' personal, social, academic and career development. She strongly believes that every individual is unique and life has ups and downs, sweet and sour moments in known and unknown areas. Thus, on reflection and deep introspection, people will have the strength to uncover the unknown, discover their strength and possibilities and to unleash their fullest potential.
  • Dharshanna Chandra Kumar

    Dharshanna Chandra Kumar has just graduated from University of Malaya with a Master’s Degree in Professional Counselling. She completed her degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology (IO) from University Malaysia Sabah (UMS). She had the experience of working with patients with mental health issues in the Department of Psychological Medicine, University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) during internship.

    Dharshanna believes in the concept that changing one's thoughts can change their world. She holds to the CBT concept in counselling whereby our thoughts, feelings and behaviour are interconnected. Therefore, restructuring our thoughts can influence how we respond to situations in life. Feeding our mind with positive thoughts will help us to face adversities in life better. She also uses Art Therapy to help students to explore their emotions, develop healthy coping skills and self-discovery. She believes that art is a beautiful way to express your unresolved emotions.

Safety & Security
At TIS Kuala Lumpur, we value the safety and security of our students, parents and staff. Our guards are on duty 24/7 and CCTV cameras are in use, all over the school compound to monitor activity. Safety is our utmost importance.

All parents, guardians and students require an Identity Tag to enter the school. Parents who forgot to bring their ID cards must register their name at the security gate. Any visitors and vendors must also register their name and purpose of visit at the guardhouse.
