Due to the current cautious approach for larger gatherings of learners, assemblies and large group meetings have not taken place this week, although class based activities are continuing as normal. There are some learners who are working from home who are accessing the online resources and activities provided by the school. Any learners absent from the school can access these additional learning activities via the Google classrooms they have been allocated. Please contact the school if you need to check you have access to these resources.

This week has also been a busy week for the BM and Mandarin department as they have been helping the Year 11 learners with their preparation for the fastly approaching IGCSE languages examinations, the speaking examinations for BM will be next month. Over the past three years the Mandarin department have been working tirelessly to ensure their 100% pass rate from the last three years continues to ensure our learners have the best outcome for building the foundation for the November series examinations.

As a Secondary school we have carried out regular temperature checks this week and where required asked some learners to work from home. Next week the temperature checks will be completed on entry to the school and together with hand sanitisers being issues, we will ask all parents to remind their children on the process for correct and regular hand washing throughout the day, teachers will be strongly reminding children at break times to follow this process and the use of hand sanitising will be available again.

Lastly I want to express my thanks to our Secondary tutors for their work that they have particularly done over these past few weeks. We have increased levels of communication and I know a lot of effort and hard work by our tutors has ensured that through this delicate time all learners have been guided towards learning being the main focus for all aspects in the school environment. We identified some tutors for awards this week too as an appreciation for their efforts.
