Primary
Our primary sections incorporate Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2) and Key Stage 2 (Years 3 to 6) and are based upon the National Curriculum for England incorporating the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). Guided by international and evidenced-based research, the IPC supports the holistic development of our learners with enjoyable, relevant, and rigorous learning, preparing them to be globally competent, socially conscious, and motivated individuals that positively contribute to the world they live in.
In Key Stage 1, students are introduced to a broad, balanced, and enjoyable curriculum which provides a foundation for students to think outside the box, reason critically, and communicate effectively. This prepares students to move to the next level - Key Stage 2.
In Key Stage 2, students gain a more in depth knowledge through experiential approach and hands-on learning. Different aspects of learning are covered through a wide variety of themes in the IPC.
Our Explorative Learning Process
The IPC is an internationally accredited curriculum that offers an exciting learning experience through a wide variety of themes. It has over 130 different themes that include Active Planet, Chocolate, Young Entrepreneurs, Mission to Mars and many more.
Both TIS campuses have been recognized for their high quality implementation of IPC by the International Curriculum Association (ICA). This recognition shows our teachers' deep commitment and dedication in providing the highest quality of teach implementation of IPC for our students.
Learning at TIS focuses on three distinct and connected goals:
Subject goals
Students develop skills and knowledge in subjects that covers language, literacy, and numeracy.
Personal learning goals
Students develop individual qualities such as resilience, communication, morality, and thoughtfulness.
International learning goals
Students have a better understanding of themselves, their community, and the world around them.

Languages and Mathematics are stand alone programmes; and connections to the IPC units of learning are made wherever applicable. We have adopted the White Rose Maths schemes to support the learning of Mathematics. Most primary schools across the UK and many worldwide follow the White Rose Maths. This award-winning scheme helps children develop their conceptual understanding of Mathematics by using concrete objects, pictorial representations and abstract thinking. This inclusive approach is based on the principles of cognitive psychology and child development.
Foundation in 3 Languages
All lessons are delivered in English and students receive additional lessons of 2 to 2.5 hours of Mandarin and Bahasa lessons each week, giving them a strong foundation in three languages. Classes are streamed so that each child is accessing the language curriculum at their own level.
Our specialist language teachers adopt a creative approach to teaching and make skillful links between their subjects and IPC units, delivering a truly thematic approach to learning.
Parent Involvement
Parents are encouraged to play an active role in their child’s learning journey. Throughout the IPC units of learning, parents will periodically receive updates through See Saw app on their child’s progress, and by the end of each unit of learning, parents are invited to the Exit Point session to celebrate what their child has learned.
School activities involving parents' participation such as community service projects, picnics, school fairs and sports day are also hosted regularly.
