Secondary Curriculum

We emphasise the cultivation of essential life skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, communication and leadership. Students develop the competencies needed to navigate and succeed in an ever-evolving global landscape through various roles, such as student council participation, peer mentorship and group project leadership.

Year 7 to Year 11

Aged 11 - 16

Our Secondary curriculum is first and foremost for academic excellence. While guiding students towards strong IGCSE results through rigorous, high-quality teaching however, we also nurture essential life skills like critical thinking, resilience and integrity, preparing well-rounded learners to thrive in life beyond school.

Taylor’s International School Secondary students undertake the internationally acclaimed IGCSE curriculum, administered by Cambridge Assessment International Education. This rigorous programme emphasises content knowledge, application and essential skills, ensuring students are well-prepared for global academic pursuits.

Key Stage 3 (Aged 11 - 14)

At Taylor’s in Key Stage 3 builds a strong academic foundation while encouraging curiosity, independence and self-awareness. Students explore a broad and balanced curriculum taught by subject specialists, with opportunities to make interdisciplinary connections, develop study skills and grow in confidence. This stage sets the tone for responsible learning and prepares students for the academic rigour of Key Stage 4.

Key Stage 4 (Aged 14 - 16)

In Key Stage 4, students deepen their subject knowledge and prepare for the internationally recognised IGCSE examinations. They follow a carefully structured curriculum that blends core subjects with selected electives, allowing for both breadth and specialisation. Beyond academics, students continue to develop character, leadership and life skills laying a strong foundation for future success in post-secondary education and beyond.

Seamless Transition to Taylor’s University

As part of the Taylor’s Education Group, our students can transition smoothly into Pre-University programmes at Taylor’s College or other institutions within the group, such as Garden International School, Nexus International School or the Australian International School Malaysia. With access to a wide range of academic options including A-Levels, IB Diploma and Pre-University Foundation Programmes, students benefit from continuity and a trusted progression to Taylor’s University or other leading universities worldwide.

Personal Pathways Programme

The Personal Pathways Programme offers Year 10 and 11 students a flexible, student-led opportunity to explore subjects beyond the IGCSE curriculum. Focused on 21st-century skills like creativity, adaptability and problem-solving, it allows learners to progress at their own pace with teacher guidance. Students can choose from diverse topics such as Digital and Computing, Money and Business, Languages or Health, Sports and Psychology. Upon completion, they earn micro-credentials that complement their IGCSE results and strengthen their university applications.

David has almost 30 years experience in teaching and leadership. He is a facilitator and coach with the International Leadership and Management Programme (ILMP) for Middle and Senior Leaders both within and outside of Asia as well as being guest speaker at several events.
