Our Secondary programme covers Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, based on the National Curriculum for England, and enhanced with a strong tri-lingual foundation in English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin.
Key Stage 3 marks the beginning of Secondary education from Years 7 to 9. This next three years of learning will extend the knowledge and skills in subjects taught during Key Stage 2, creating a seamless learning journey from Primary to Secondary.
All subjects are taught by specialist teachers in dedicated classrooms where teachers build relationships and cater to each student’s learning needs. Each day is filled with lessons and activities that develops students’ core knowledge, skills and understanding to embark on the Key Stage 4 IGCSE programme.
Key Stage 4 is a two-year IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) course that culminates in examinations administered by CAIE (Cambridge Assessment International Education).
The IGCSE qualification is highly recognized worldwide, and places importance in content knowledge, application and skills. It is the equivalent of SPM, however with IGCSE, students graduate a year earlier than their SPM counterparts.
During this stage, students will focus on a selection of subjects that include the core subjects of Maths, English and Science, as well as elective subjects such as Business Studies, Economics, English Literature, Additional Mathematics and many others. This allows students to discover their passion for learning as they explore and tailor their curriculum to their own interests.
TIS students can be confident in their transition into pre-university or foundation courses locally and internationally, providing students with a worldwide passport for success in education and employment.
