Secondary
The Secondary programme in Taylor’s International School (TIS) covers Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, based on the National Curriculum for England. As seniors in the school, students will be groomed to take on more responsibility and be subjected to a higher level of maturity in managing their learning. They will go through a rigorous curriculum, and will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to achieve their full potential.
Key Stage 3 marks the beginning of Secondary education from Years 7 to 9. These next three years of learning will extend the knowledge and skills in subjects taught during Key Stage 2, creating a seamless learning journey from Primary to Secondary.
All subjects are taught by specialist teachers in dedicated classrooms where teachers build relationships and cater to each student’s learning needs. Each day is filled with lessons and activities that develop students’ core knowledge, skills and understanding to embark on the Key Stage 4 IGCSE programme.
Key Stage 4 is a two-year IGCSE course that culminates in examinations administered by CAIE (Cambridge Assessment International Education).
The IGCSE qualification is highly recognised worldwide, and places importance in content knowledge, application and skills.  It is the equivalent of SPM, however with IGCSE, students graduate a year earlier than their SPM counterparts.

During this stage, students will focus on a selection of subjects that include the core subjects Maths, English and Science, as well as elective subjects such as Business Studies, Economics, English Literature, Additional Mathematics and many others. This allows students to discover their passion for learning as they explore and tailor their curriculum to their own interests.
Personal Pathways
The world of work is recognising that skills are perhaps more important than subject knowledge, and to support this TIS have a Personal Pathways programme. Students who want to broaden their skills and knowledge outside of the offered IGCSE programme may opt for the Personal Pathways programme. This is an independent student-directed programme option in Years 10 and 11. It offers students the opportunity to explore alternative subject areas beyond the traditional academic curriculum, in a framework based in the 21st Century Skills.
Through Personal Pathways, students are able to select courses of their choice and interest through a recognized and credible platform.
The students go through the course independently with some teacher guidance. After completion of the course, students are able to earn micro-credentials that supplement their IGCSE results while also equipping them with the knowledge and life skills to give them the competitive edge for college and future job applications.

Courses available ranges from:
  • Languages
  • History and the Arts
  • Education and development
  • Health, sports and psychology
  • Money and business
  • Nature and environment
  • Science, maths and technology
  • Society, politics and law
  • Digital and computing
Future-ready Skills

At TIS, students are given the opportunity to develop future-ready skills such as critical thinking, problem solving, communication, collaboration and leadership skills. From student council to Interact Club, peer mentor, student ambassador, sports captain and group project lead, these opportunities are presented to the students throughout their time in the school. As they establish their sense of self, they are ready to embrace the challenges of the future.

Seamless Education Pathways

Students who graduate from TIS gain admission to their college and university of choice, including some of the most selective institutions across the globe. As TIS is a part of the esteemed Taylor’s Education Group, our students also have the advantage of a seamless progression to tertiary level with Taylor’s College and Taylor’s University. Optionally, our students also have the privilege in joining Taylor’s Schools’ network of international schools, namely Garden International School, Nexus International School and Australian International School Malaysia for their A-Levels, IB Diploma and New South Wales Higher School Certificate programmes.
