Teaching Development
Quantum Learning Distinguished School
At Taylor’s International School, our dedicated and highly qualified teachers bring passion and expertise into every classroom. Our weekly continuous professional development ensures our students benefit from innovative, high-quality learning every day.
We are proud to be the world’s first Quantum Learning Distinguished School, a recognition of our commitment to evidence-based, brain-friendly teaching practices. Every teacher is certified in this methodology and applies its four core elements — Foundation, Atmosphere, Environment, and Design & Delivery — to create vibrant, student-centred classrooms. The result is stronger participation, deeper understanding and greater confidence, as learners are encouraged to take risks, embrace mistakes and grow.

Staff Voices
Hear directly from our teachers as they share their passion, experiences, and what makes teaching at Taylor’s International School truly special.
Edward Bantry White
Head of Secondary,
Taylor’s Kuala Lumpur Campus
The staff work very closely with individual students so they differentiate every lesson, ensuring the work is appropriate for every ability level. It’s not just about a textbook or a laptop and doing a whole lot of questions, it’s very much about discussion, debate and the exploration of ideas. It’s more than just preparing for exams students learn to appreciate and understand the topics they are studying.
Marco Damhius
Head of Primary,
Taylor’s Puchong Campus
We really try to make sure in everything we do we are learning focused. It means students are learning academically, gaining knowledge, building skills and getting an understanding of the world around them. We want students to be resilient leaders for the future and we also want them to work and flourish in this world where all boundaries see to disappear.
Mohana A/P Jayapalan
Assistant Head - Early Years,
Taylor’s Puchong Campus
I do have a lot of things I love about this job. I love the time I get to spend with the children and the conversations we have, especially when they share what is happening in the classroom and what they are learning. Another thing I really love about this job is the nurturing teachers that I get to work with, it is amazing how passionate they are, the reason they are here is to cultivate that love for learning.
Lewis Reading
Head of Drama,
Taylor’s Puchong Campus
I love drama because I love to perform and it feels like I am performing every day and the students are my audience, so selfishly I get a lot of joy from performing to them and showing them these different skills, genres and ideas. With my students I get to watch those light bulb moments as they create something new and growth in confidence, that’s the real joy.
Mark Steven Lamont-Kelly
Director of Sport,
Taylor’s Puchong Campus
We try to include as many students as possible. Trials are not are you in or are you out, it’s trials of which team we can put you in. We try and make as many teams as possible to give as many students, as many opportunities in sport as we can.
Shum Swee Ting
Head of Quantum Learning &
Professional Development,
Taylor’s KL & Puchong Campus
What we believe is that we are supporting and equipping our teachers to create lessons that are joyful, meaningful and challenging for our learners. Equipping them to have this classroom that is student centred in their learning.
