11 September 2020 - Ensuring Smooth and Safe Session
Dear Parents,

This the third week of term and as much as possible, the school is running smoothly and safely. We are being very vigilant to make sure that all precautions are being taken and enforced, and of course as always, I welcome your observations in this matter. Now with the rules on Physical Education being relaxed it is just great to see the boys and girls out in the field running and kicking the ball again, and to hear the squeals of delight of their unbridled enthusiasm.

I do need to ask you a couple of favours and remind you. Please ensure that your children come to school with masks. Lately we have had a few, not many, but a few students turning up to school without masks and it is a worry. We must all wear masks in public, and apart from classrooms, everywhere else is deemed a public area. The second favour is a little bit more delicate but I need to express myself. Overall, the drop-off in the morning and the pick-up in the afternoon is running well, but lately it has come to my attention that there are a few people who are queue cutting in the afternoon. This creates unnecessary tension and frustration, and it could create an accident. I would ask those people to please, please be patient and to get in the right queue from the very beginning.

As you have noticed, we have opened the lanes after observations from you were brought to me, and indeed it does make the flow of traffic better, but we are always looking to improve the situation and I need all of your cooperation and patience as well. As much as possible, can you please come close to your staggered times in the afternoon. Again, it has been observed that some Secondary parents are coming way too early and parking in the Primary slots. If you come early, please wait away from the lane, allow the Primary students to be picked up first and then you can proceed to come into the lane at the pick-up point. If you come too early and park at the pick- up point, you are blocking the way for the Primary parents to pick up their children. If we follow these procedures, we will find that the traffic flow is optimized. There is always going to be an element of frustration under the new MCO rules but I ask for your patience.

Next week of course, we have a break right in the middle of the week to celebrate Malaysia Day, so on behalf of myself and the staff I would like to wish everyone a happy Malaysia Day. Malaysia has done so well on the global scale in terms of the pandemic, it is one of the safest countries of the world, and we can be proud of this. Well done Malaysia.
