After the excitement of Sports day last week, we have continued our domination of Volleyball in 2019 with two more championships and a few other sporting events have taken place.

On Friday 14th June after a phenomenal sports day, Mr Shane's Volleyball boys under 18 team hosted the KL Sports League cup finals. After finishing 3rd in their KLISS tournament the boys were determined to do well in their KLSL tournament. They won their first three matches convincingly, beating St Joseph's International School, TIS Kuala Lumpur B and Peninsula International School meaning they played TIS Kuala Lumpur B in the final. It was a close game but we came out victorious! The first Volleyball boys cup trophy we have ever won, the boys were ecstatic and celebrated into the evening.

On Saturday our under 14 and under 16's travelled to Epsom College for a Netball tournament. Our under 14's performed excellently, beating SMK KLIA and Epsom College on their way to an impressive 2nd place finish. Our under 16's finished in 4th place.

Our Volleyball under 13 girls, led by Mr Firdaus, hosted the KLSL tournament on Wednesday, attempting to be the first ever Volleyball team to win an unprecedented KLISS and KLSL double. They lost their first match in a close game to a tie breaker with HELP International School 2-1. They went into their final match against TIS Kuala Lumpur knowing they had to win convincingly as it came down to points difference. And they won!!! Beating our sister school with a magnificent display to clinch the championship and become our first ever Volleyball team to do the double! An incredible effort considering it is only the girls 2nd year in KLISS. Our under 15 and under 18 girls teams will be hoping to emulate this and add to their current KLISS championships in their KL Sports League tournaments in the next 8 days.

On Thursday our Volleyball under 15 boys travelled to TIS Kuala Lumpur to compete for their KLSL tournament. Out of the 5 matches they played they managed to win 4 of them which is extremely impressive. Overall they finished 2nd on points difference which was agonising for the boys and Mr Shane but they can be proud of how far they have come since last year's tournaments.

On Tuesday 25th June we will be having our Sports team photoshoot throughout the morning. The schedule is up on the PE office newsboard as well as being posted on the taylors.lightning instagram account and has been announced to students in assembly. Students are asked to wear their full kit which compromises of the grey lightning top, black or red shorts and trainers. They can wear this kit throughout the whole day from registration to last lesson. Students are also encouraged to bring in any medals they may have won this year in KLISS or KL Sports League.
