30 June 2025
- Back for our Second Term
As we step into the second half of the term, this update highlights the vibrant learning, leadership, and community spirit thriving across our school. From student-led sustainability projects and global awareness campaigns to academic achievements and leadership initiatives, our learners continue to demonstrate remarkable initiative, creativity, and care for the world around them.
Community Efforts with UNIQLO Power of Clothing Project
Our school partnered with UNIQLO Malaysia for their "Power of Clothing Project," a heartwarming initiative to collect pre-loved clothing for refugee communities, the homeless, and B40 families. Led by our Primary and Secondary Student Councils, this project truly embodied our Taylor's CARE movement (Compassion, Awareness, Responsibility, and Engagement). The official handover on June 19th was a moving reminder of how small acts of kindness can restore dignity and bring comfort. A huge thank you to our students for their enthusiasm and our parent community for their incredible generosity.
Innovation on Display: KS3 STEM Fair 2025
On May 29th, our school transformed into a hub of innovation for the STEM Fair 2025. Forty-eight groups of Key Stage 3 students showcased their passion for real-world problem-solving, aligning their projects with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. From "The Ocean Sweeper" to natural water filtration systems, these 100% student-conceived and built projects demonstrated remarkable research, creativity, and collaboration. It was truly inspiring to see our young changemakers in action.
Student Leadership in Action
Our student leaders have been incredibly active this month! The Secondary Student Council's Learning Committee championed Ocean Week, raising environmental awareness through creative classroom door decorations. Our Cambassadors continued their invaluable support for new students and are preparing to lead assemblies on "Care for Self" and "Care for Others."
The Interact Club participated in the Rotary Club of Subang's Leadership Training Seminar, enhancing their skills in service and community engagement. Meanwhile, our Model United Nations (MUN) Club continues to grow, with five delegates representing TISPC at the Ipoh MUN Conference and internal committee elections underway. Mark your calendars for TISPCMUN 2025 from July 4th to 6th, where delegates from across the region will engage in debate on pressing global issues.
Finally, our dedicated School Yearbook Committee is not only capturing memorable moments but is also leading a pioneering initiative: developing our school's first student-led website! Their work reflects creativity, discipline and a strong sense of ownership, laying the foundation for a lasting student legacy.
Empowering Future Pathways with Unifrog
We're thrilled to introduce Unifrog, a new online platform designed to help our secondary students explore their future academic and career pathways. This user-friendly tool provides comprehensive resources for researching universities, apprenticeships, and career profiles globally. Unifrog also supports skill development in areas like CV writing and personal statements, empowering students to make informed decisions about their future. Parents will also receive dedicated login access soon to support their child's journey.
Academic Support Highlights
We held valuable sessions for parents this month to support key transitions. Our Year 5 & 6 Coffee Meet and Greet provided insights into the secondary school journey, ensuring a smooth transition for our primary students. For our Year 9 families, informative IGCSE Options events offered guidance on subject choices, helping students make confident decisions about their academic future.
Our School Counsellors also facilitated impactful PSHE talks:
Book Week: Read Your Way!
Our school is hosting Book Week from June 30th to July 4th, themed "Read Your Way."
Students from Year 1 and up will join the Great Reading Tournament, an online challenge with prizes. Primary students get storytelling sessions and a storytelling competition. Secondary students will participate in "Poetry Idol" and the "Story Sparks" writing competition.
The week ends on July 4th with a Book Character Parade and assembly, featuring prizes for best costumes. Primary parents can join a Parent & Child Book Character Fashion Show! Get ready for a week of reading and creativity!
Thank you as always for your support and partnership as we grow together as a learning community - it makes a real difference.
